SYNOPSIS

From the Book jacket

Bethany Lu Carlisle is devastated when the tabloids report actor Keanu Reeves is about to tie the knot. What?! How could the world's perfect boyfriend and forever bachelor, Keanu not realize that making a move like this could potentially be devastating to the equilibrium of...well...everything! Not to mention, he's never come face to face with the person who could potentially be his true soulmate—her.

Desperate to convince Keanu to call off the wedding, Lu and her ride-or-die BFF Truman Erikson take a wild road trip to search for the elusive Keanu so that Lu can fulfill her dream of meeting her forever crush and confess her undying love. From New York to Los Angeles, Lu and True get into all sorts of sticky situations. Will Lu be able to find Keanu and convince him she's the one for him? Or maybe she'll discover true love has been by her side all along...

My Review

There is a line near the end of the book that sums up how I felt about this book :

"Poor thing, competing with a dream of a man and scenarios of a life you made in your head"

In the southern way...Bless Her Heart.

I'm going to be honest and say that the title is what sold me. I mean..hello...Keanu? So I understood the fan girling part. For sure.

But that's where my understanding ended.

It's not that I didn't like the book. No, it was hilarious, it was full of celebrity cameos, fun time, good sex, and friendship. All the things that make a great rom-com.

I was so excited to discover the main character was in her 40s.

But she almost lost me with her obsession with Keanu!!! Omg girl!!!!! T

here were many times I was screaming at the book: You are too grown for this!!!

Especially when there was a perfectly good man right in front of her!

I admired True, not only for his obvious love for Bethany Lu, but for his loyalty as a friend.

But somewhere between the middle and before the end, I was like RUN BOY RUN!

We did get an explanation of sorts of where and why her obsession was born( I mean, obviously there was a reason).

But again: perfectly good man right in front of you! I swear I wanted to throw the book a few times but I soldiered on.

And I'm glad I did. All's well that ends well.

So if you want to be both exasperated and entertained by a book, pick this one up!
